Tasmanians are our owners, our most important customers, and the very people we were created to serve. For more than a century, they’ve relied on our hydropower and support to help drive positive change for Tasmanian communities.

Our community partners

We support a number of programs that enrich our community and provide vital support for Tasmanians at risk. With Home Base, we support Mara House, which provides 24-hour supported accommodation for homeless women aged 13-18 years, and emergency accommodation for young women at risk. The unmeasurable benefit of Mara House is in the avoided harm to these young women and their families. You can find out more about Home Base by clicking here.

Volunteering Tasmania is Tasmania's peak volunteering body, and one of our longest running community partnerships. Alongside supporting organisations that rely on volunteers across the state, they also invest in research and influencing critical policy, and consultancy services on best practice. Our own volunteering program has relied heavily on the support from Volunteering Tasmania, which helps us to build stronger and more connected communities. The Smith Family is a national children's education charity with a vision of a world where every child has the opportunity to change their future. At a local level, we support learning clubs in Launceston, in Northern Tasmania. In these out-of-school learning environments, students develop their academic and social skills - through homework, literacy, numeracy and science support. Community - grants

Community grants

Our Community Grants Program offers support for not-for-profit projects that make a difference in Tasmanian communities. We want to support community groups to achieve great outcomes. We’ve supported everything from school fruit programs and recycling initiatives to gender diversity initiatives and sports equipment for children with a disability

Community - volunteering

Employee volunteering

Our employee volunteering program supports community organisations by sharing our people’s time, skills and knowledge. Over a quarter of our people volunteer in their community through our award-winning volunteer program. We believe that volunteering helps build stronger and more connected communities. It also impacts many aspects of daily life through healthcare, community services, sport, the arts, tourism, education, training and emergency services.

Sponsoring community

We love to sponsor community programs and events that support Tasmanians, attract visitors to Tasmania's beautiful places, inspire pride, and showcase the talent and diversity of our island. Interested in how you can get involved?
